Three Baltic countries‘ representatives discussed questions of European Union structural assistance use

Last week in Druskininkai, also known as the city-ambassador of European Union assistance use, gathered representatives of institutions administrating ES funds from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. During the meeting problems of projects’ realization, also questions about funds usage transparency and efficiency, communication tools with applicants, project managers and preparation for 2014-2020 y. financial assistance works were discussed. While comparing rates of three Baltic countries, there was searching for solutions how to use the funds from European Union more efficiently and usefully.

Fifth Cohesion Forum - The contribution of cohesion policy to Europe 2020

The Fifth Cohesion Forum took place in Brussels 31 January to 1 February 2011. The main goal was to discuss the orientations for the future EU Cohesion Policy and its contribution to the Europe 2020 strategy. The Forum constituted the closure of the public consultation on the policy proposals of the Fifth Report on Economic, Social and Territorial cohesion which was adopted by the Commission on 9 November 2010.

"Growing with EU" 4th edition: financial engineering measures encourage investors

In 4th edition of newsletter "Growing with EU" read about financial engineering and other topics including reduction of energy costs in the public sector buildings, fight against unemployment, growth of public policy evaluation demand in Lithuania, equipment and modernization of multifunctional Arenas with EU Investments and newest soon-to-become tourist attraction Indoor Ski Slopes in Druskininkai. This project has no analogues in Lithuania.

UPDATE: Call for papers for international evaluation conference "What's new and what works in the EU cohesion policy 2007-2013: discoveries and lessons for 2014-2020"

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania regularly organises international conferences dedicated to evaluation of EU Structural Fund programmes. The conference to be held on 3–4 March 2011 in Vilnius is already the fourth event of this type. The aim of this conference is twofold: to take stock of EU Structural Fund evaluations analyzing the implementation of instruments, methods and interventions newly introduced in the 2007–2013 period as well as to discuss whether evaluation is already being used as an integrated programme management tool.

Crystal stars of "RegioStars 2010" awards has landed in the hands of lithuanians
