The support from EU Structural Funds for Lithuania in 2004-2006 is provided under the Single Programming Document for 2004-2006 (hereinafter – the SPD) approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and by the European Commission. The SPD sets forth the action plans and the development strategy of the EU Structural Funds and Lithuania; specifies the contributions of the EU Structural Funds and other financing sources.
The SPD established five investment priorities: development of social and economic infrastructure, human resource development, development of productive sector, rural and fisheries development, and technical assistance. For the implementation of these priorities, about 895 million Euro of EU and 309 million Euro of the Republic of Lithuania funds have been allocated:
